China Trip: Friday, 21 July 2006

In today’s class we talked about difference between Megan’s and a Chinese student’s normal school day. I did some card tricks to fill in some time at one stage. The “card-spitting” trick sure got a kick from the students!
12:00pm
Our teaching assistant Felix joined us for lunch and he provided some really tasty salted chicken.
8:00pm
The Teachers’ Concert. The local “youth” (they’re actually in their 30s) choir did 4 songs which actually took 30mins!! The items included an English song “My Soul Knows Very Well”, a Chinese song “The Cross Represents the Lord’s Heart”, as well as testimonies from Katrina and Annie, and a solo song performance “You Raise Me Up” from myself and accompanied by Megan on the piano. The majority of the students left after these performances, and didn’t stay for the Jesus film. We stopped the film after about 70mins. It was a 2 hour show, which I realised later that I did not select the 67 minute version for kids. >.<
