Fair enough. I don't really care much about who's in the movies though. It's weird, I see movies for a whole variety of reasons:
- it's about something I like (cars for Tokyo Drift, dancing for Take the Lead)
- a group of us want to socialise and I'll be darned bored otherwise if I don't join them
- it's a sequel!! (although they are a tad disappointing, usually)
- just cos: sometimes I go see a movie just for the heck of it (free tix, super discounts, etc.)
Hi RJ,
It's good that you have an open mind when it comes to watching movies. And it's true for me - that I'd want to see a movie with a favourite actor in it.
I hate the fact that when I read reviews of movies there are certain people who certainly show their bias. Some are more into action, and despise the nostalgic, and vice versa. Ah well, people are people I suppose, and one need not depend on reviews alone to decide which movie to see.
As for Superman Returns, I haven't had the opportunity to see it yet. Speaking of reviews I've heard a whole range of them: "Totally awesome!", "Better/Worse than Christopher Reeve", "Boring!", and even "He's hot!" So I can't say if I haven't seen it.
As for character - that's very true: that Superman's not power-hungry. At least there's some morale there too. Sadly, many humans are power or money driven. People are out to watch their back, even if it means stepping on another's toes. But yet I believe there are a handful who are different from the stereotype - those who can "make the world a better place." More so than a cliche!
